Welcome to SoloTRVLR. We built this app to help travelers meet for adventures, coffee, shared journeys, and events — and we designed our privacy approach to keep that experience safe, respectful, and transparent. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the SoloTRVLR mobile app, website, and features such as chat and Activities (meetups organized through the app). By using SoloTRVLR, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. This Policy is informational and not legal advice.

• We do not sell your personal information.

Who We Are & Applicability

SoloTRVLR operates globally. This Policy applies wherever you use our services. In some places, additional rights or disclosures may apply based on local law (for example, in the EU, UK, California, and other jurisdictions). When local law requires different or additional practices, we comply with those requirements.

Key Definitions

• “Personal Information” means information that identifies or can be reasonably linked to an identifiable person (e.g., name, email, profile photo, device identifiers).

• “Non-Personal Information” means information that cannot be linked to an identifiable person (e.g., aggregated usage statistics).

• “Processing” means any operation performed on information, such as collecting, storing, using, sharing, or deleting.

Information We Collect

• Account & Profile: name, email, profile photo, basic bio, preferences, and settings.

• Age Confirmation: SoloTRVLR is for users 18+. We may collect your date of birth or age confirmation to help enforce this.

• Content You Share: posts, plans, Activity details, messages, and photos you upload.

• Location & Travel: approximate location derived from device settings, check-ins for Activities, and optional trip info you provide (e.g., city and dates).

• Device & Usage: app events, log data, language and region, device type, app version, crash reports, and performance metrics.

• Permissions: camera, photos, location, notifications — only if you enable them and solely for stated features.

• Cookies & Similar Technologies: identifiers, preferences, and analytics on our website and, where applicable, in-app web views.

Sources of Data

• Directly from you when you create an account, set preferences, join Activities, or communicate with others or with Support.

• Automatically from your device and interactions with the app (subject to your settings).

• From other users (e.g., Activity creators and participants) when they include you in plans or share feedback.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide and improve the app: operate core features, recommend Activities, and maintain reliability and performance.

• Safety & Trust: verify account authenticity, prevent spam and abuse, investigate reports, and enforce Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.

• Communications: send service messages (e.g., Activity updates, policy changes) and, with your consent or where permitted, optional product news.

• Personalization: tailor content, suggestions, and language/region settings based on your preferences and usage.

• Analytics: understand usage patterns to improve stability, accessibility, and experience.

• Compliance: meet legal, regulatory, and security obligations and respond to lawful requests.

Legal Bases (where applicable)

• Consent: for optional features (e.g., precise location, notifications, marketing emails).

• Contract: to provide SoloTRVLR services you request and to support your account.

• Legitimate Interests: to keep SoloTRVLR safe and useful (e.g., fraud prevention, analytics, product improvement) while respecting your rights.

• Legal Obligations: to comply with laws, regulations, and lawful requests.

Sharing & Disclosure

• Service Providers: trusted vendors that help us run SoloTRVLR (e.g., hosting, analytics, support tools) under contracts that limit use and require protection of your information.

• Other Users: your profile, posts, and Activity participation may be visible to other SoloTRVLR users according to your settings and the feature’s design.

• Legal & Safety: law enforcement requests (where legally required), protecting rights, safety, and preventing harm.

• Business Events: corporate transactions (e.g., merger or acquisition) where information may be transferred as part of the event, subject to this Policy.

International Transfers

SoloTRVLR may process information in countries other than where you live. When we transfer personal information internationally, we use legally appropriate safeguards and work with providers who commit to protecting your information.

Data Retention

• We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described or as required by law.

• Inactive Accounts: accounts with no login activity for 24 months may be removed, and associated data deleted or de-identified subject to legal holds.

• Backups & Logs: retained for limited periods for security and reliability purposes.

Security

• Administrative, technical, and physical safeguards proportionate to the sensitivity of the data.

• Encryption in transit where appropriate, access controls, and regular review of systems and permissions.

• Limited employee access to personal information based on role and necessity.

• Incident Response: if we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we will investigate and, where required, notify you and relevant authorities.

Your Choices & Rights

• Access & Update: you can review and update certain profile details in the app.

• Delete Account: request deletion in-app or by contacting Support@solotrvlr.global; we aim to process requests promptly.

• Marketing Preferences: opt out of optional communications anytime in app settings or via the message footer.

• Permissions: you control device permissions (location, camera, photos, notifications). Disabling certain permissions may limit features.

• Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (e.g., to object, restrict processing, or request portability). We’ll honor rights required by applicable law.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

• Strictly Necessary: required for core site functionality.

• Functional: remember preferences and settings.

• Performance/Analytics: help us understand usage to improve SoloTRVLR.

• Advertising: used only where permitted and subject to your choices; we do not sell your personal information.

• Controls: manage cookies via your browser or device settings; some features may not work if disabled.

Children & Teens

SoloTRVLR is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18, and minors may not use the app or attend Activities. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact Support@solotrvlr.global and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

In-App Features & Permissions

• Location: used to suggest nearby Activities and improve relevance. You can disable or change precision in your device settings.

• Camera & Photos: used to upload profile images and Activity photos; you control access via device settings.

• Notifications: used for Activity updates, safety notices, and messages. You can manage notification settings in the app and device.

Activities & Meetups

• Visibility: Activity details (e.g., title, time, general location) may be visible to participants and, depending on settings, to nearby users.

• Hosts & Participants: names and profile photos are shared within the Activity to enable coordination.

• Expenses: SoloTRVLR does not process payments between users; participants manage their own expenses.

AI Features & Privacy

SoloTRVLR may offer AI-generated suggestions for Activities or venues. These suggestions are generated from available data and preferences. We do not use your private messages to train public AI models. Verify suggestions independently before acting.

Data Requests & Contact

• Submit requests to access, delete, or update your data via in-app settings or by emailing Support@solotrvlr.global.

• We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

• We respond within applicable legal timeframes and will explain any reasons if we cannot comply with a request.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. If changes are significant, we will provide appropriate notice in the app or by email. The “Last Updated” date shows when this Policy was most recently revised.
