A soloTRVLR is a safeTRVLR

How SoloTRVLR protects your privacy, your data, and your journey.

safeTRVLR guides how we build, communicate, and protect your experience.

It’s freeing, expansive, and personal. And when you’re out in the world — navigating new places, new people, and new experiences — you deserve a platform that treats your safety and privacy with the same care you do.

safeTRVLR is our commitment to that care.

It’s the way we design, build, and communicate.

It’s the way we handle your data.

It’s the way we think about trust.

It’s the way we protect your sovereignty as a traveller.

Below, you’ll find a clear, human explanation of how we keep your information safe — including how our optional contact‑matching feature works.

🔐 Your privacy comes first

We follow the principles of:

  • GDPR
  • data minimisation
  • explicit consent
  • transparency
  • revocable permissions

This means:

  • We only collect what we need.
  • We only use it for the purpose you agreed to.
  • You can turn features on or off at any time.
  • You’re always in control.

We never sell your data.

We never share your personal information with third parties for marketing.

We never access your contacts without your explicit permission.

📱 Contact Matching (Optional)

Find people you know — without giving up your privacy

Some travellers like to see which of their friends are already on SoloTRVLR. Others prefer to stay private. Both choices are valid, and we honour them equally.

If you choose to use Contact Matching, here’s exactly what happens:

1. You choose the contacts

We don’t read your entire address book.

You select the specific contacts you want to check.

2. We never upload phone numbers

Before anything leaves your device, each selected phone number is transformed into a one‑way cryptographic hash.

This means:

  • it cannot be reversed
  • it cannot be turned back into a phone number
  • it cannot be used to identify anyone outside the matching process

We only upload the hashed versions.

3. We compare hashes — nothing more

If a hashed number matches a hashed number from another SoloTRVLR user, we show you that connection.

If not, nothing happens.

4. You can turn this off anytime

There’s a toggle in Settings.

When you switch it off:

  • all your uploaded hashes are deleted
  • the feature stops immediately
  • you can re‑enable it later if you choose

5. We remind you every six months

Consent shouldn’t be silent or forgotten.

If you have Contact Matching enabled, we’ll send a gentle reminder every six months so you can:

  • review your selected contacts
  • update them
  • turn the feature off
  • or continue with confidence

You stay in control — always.

🌱 Why we do this

SoloTRVLR is built on trust.

Not blind trust.

Not assumed trust.

Not “everyone else does it this way” trust.

But intentional, transparent, sovereignty‑first trust.

We believe:

  • you deserve to know exactly how your data is used
  • you deserve features that respect your boundaries
  • you deserve safety without surveillance
  • you deserve connection without compromise

Your journey is yours. We’re here to support it — not intrude on it.
